Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Hagwow Inc. ("Hagwow", "we", "us"). They cover your use of the Hagwow app, the hagwow.com website, and related services (together, "Hagwow"). By creating an account or using Hagwow, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Hagwow.

1. Who can use Hagwow

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. Children use Hagwow through a learner profile that a parent or legal guardian creates and supervises. If you create a learner profile, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian, you agree to these terms on the child's behalf, and you are responsible for the child's use of Hagwow.

2. Your account

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Tell us at hello@hagwow.com if you think someone has used your account without permission.

3. What Hagwow provides

Hagwow provides lessons, reviews, textbooks, games, simulations, and progress reports for students in Grades 1 to 12. Hagwow is a study aid. It does not replace a school, and we do not promise any particular grade, exam result, or learning outcome.

We add, change, and remove content and features over time.

4. Free and Premium

Hagwow can be used for free, with ads and with limits on some features. Hagwow Premium is a paid subscription that removes ads and unlocks more features. The features of each plan are described in the app at the time you subscribe.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Buying in the app. If you subscribe in the app, payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.

Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period, at the price shown at purchase, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

Free trials. Some plans start with a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you are charged. Each customer is entitled to one free trial.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for.

Refunds. Purchases made through Apple or Google are handled under their refund policies, and refund requests go to them. For purchases made directly from us, contact hello@hagwow.com. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partly used periods.

Buying outside the app. If you buy a plan on our website or through an authorised Hagwow seller, the price, period, and renewal terms shown at the time of purchase apply.

Price changes. We may change prices. We will give you notice before a new price applies to your renewal, and you can cancel before it does.

Family plans. A family plan covers the number of learner profiles stated at purchase, within one household.

6. Coins, XP, and other in-app items

XP, coins, stickers, costumes, tokens, badges, ranks, and similar items are part of the game. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred or sold. We may adjust how they are earned and spent.

7. Rules of use

You agree that you, and any learner on your account, will not:

• Use a nickname or club name that is offensive, sexual, hateful, or that pretends to be someone else
• Bully, harass, or threaten other users
• Cheat, use bots or automated tools, or manipulate leaderboards, XP, or rewards
• Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute Hagwow's lessons, questions, textbooks, art, or other content
• Reverse engineer the app or try to get around its security or payment systems
• Use Hagwow in a way that breaks the law

We may change a nickname or club name, remove content, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

8. Friends, clubs, and leaderboards

Hagwow shows nicknames, avatars, and progress to other users on leaderboards, in friend lists, and in clubs. You can block or report another user in the app. We review reports and act on them.

9. Content Mode videos

Content Mode lets a learner record a video of themselves playing a Hagwow game. The video is made and stored on your device and belongs to you. You decide whether to share it. You are responsible for what you share and where, including making sure anyone who appears in it has agreed. Parents and guardians should supervise sharing by children.

You may share these videos, including the Hagwow name and logo that appear in them, for personal, non-commercial purposes.

10. Our content

Hagwow, its lessons, questions, textbooks, characters, artwork, sounds, software, and trademarks belong to Hagwow Inc. or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Hagwow for your own or your child's learning. No other rights are given.

11. Ads and third-party services

Free accounts show ads provided by third parties. We do not endorse the products advertised. Hagwow may link to or rely on services run by other companies, whose own terms apply to those services.

12. Availability and changes

We work to keep Hagwow running, but we do not guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. We may update, suspend, or stop any part of Hagwow. If we stop the service entirely while you have a paid subscription bought directly from us, we will refund the unused part.

13. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app or at hagwow.com/delete-account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law. When an account closes, the licence in section 10 ends and progress and in-app items are lost.

14. Disclaimers

Hagwow is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work hard to make our lessons accurate, but we do not guarantee that all content is free of errors.

15. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hagwow and its owners, staff, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of data or profits. Our total liability for any claim related to Hagwow is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you have paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

16. Indemnity

You agree to cover losses and costs we incur because you, or a learner on your account, broke these terms or the law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines, Philippines, except where the consumer law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. Please contact hello@hagwow.com first; most problems can be solved that way.

18. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded Hagwow from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

• These terms are between you and Hagwow only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Your licence is limited to using the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Apple is not responsible for handling claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims.
• You confirm that you are not in a country under a United States government embargo and are not on a United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

19. Google Play

If you downloaded Hagwow from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Hagwow after that, you accept the new terms.

21. General

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term, we have not given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger or sale. These terms, with our Privacy Policy and Children's Privacy Notice, are the whole agreement between you and us about Hagwow.
